ヘアケア製品の剤として汎用されているグリオキシル酸（GA）について SPring-8 BL43IR に設置された顕微赤外分光（IR）装置を用いて、毛髪内部での GA の分布の評価並びに浸透促進剤併用による浸透促進効果を検証した。結果、GA は浸透促進剤を併用せずとも毛髪の深部まで浸透していることが明らかとなった。

50 歳，女性。初診の 2 年前より頭頂部の短毛を自覚していた。ステロイド外用剤により加療されたが症状は改善せず当科を受診した。初診時，頭頂部に短毛が多数認められた。短毛部の毛幹には点状の白色結節が散在性にみられ，結節部で容易に切れ毛を生じた。易脱毛性はなく，頭髪以外の毛髪には異常所見はなかった。患者は以前より頭頂部を搔破し，また定期的にを行っていた。患者の病歴，臨床症状，顕微鏡所見より物理的障害による後天性結節性裂毛症と診断した。フェキソフェナジン塩酸塩の内服との中止により，6 カ月後には毛髪所見の改善を認め，その後再発していない。

The straightening hair style can also be formed by only the hot ironing process although relies on the actions of heat and moisture. We conducted a new straightening process based on the assumption that if the distortion of some disulfide bonds generated in the process of straightening the hair tress is removed, straightening style is retained permanently. The new straightening process which we have proposed is as follows: (1) shampoo a small hair tress (30cm), (2) remove excess water from hair tress with a towel, (3) run through a flat iron along hair tress at 175℃ for 15 sec and repeat this process two times, (4) apply a commercial straightening cream containing ammonium thioglycolate at 30℃ for 2 min, (5) rinse sufficiently with tap water, and (6) oxidize with a commercial neutralization cream containing hydrogen peroxide at 30℃ for 2 min. As a result, it was verified that the straightening of wavy hair could be achieved permanently by the proposed straightening process, as was confirmed by the phenomenon that the straightening hair tress was more resistant to immersion in boiling water for 30 sec. We believe that the proposal straightening process is of the effective process that may achieve permanent hair straightening. It should be noted that the most important factor in this process is that the non-keratin protein chain of cortical cell layer repositioned so as to eliminate the distortion of the internal structure caused by ironing treatment. It has been suggested, furthermore, that the cleavage of the distorted disulfide bonds in cuticle cells serves to remove the strain forces localized to the fiber surface area and simultaneously lead to results that stabilize hair style in straight.

近年，ヘアサロン業界では，リピート顧客の離反を防ぐことが，店舗の成長において重要な課題となっている．本研究では，ヘアサロンチェーンのID付きPOSデータを用いて，リピート顧客の離反要因の特定を試みる．はじめに，2年間に4回以上来店している顧客を対象に，各店舗の顧客の平均来店間隔に基づき，店舗クラスタに分類を行う．次に，それぞれの店舗クラスタにおいて，顧客の平均的な来店間隔を基準に，顧客を継続顧客と離反顧客に分類し，判別モデルを作成する．説明変数には，平均来店間隔，最終来店時のメニュー，平均購買金額などを用いた．作成したモデルの偏回帰係数の値を用いて，店舗クラスタごとの離反要因の特定を行った．

The formation of split ends is one of the most important problems especially for women to present a good appearance. For the primary split ends care, the mechanical recovery of damaged hair fibers is of special importance since hair does not self-recover. In this work, the effects of cosmetic treatments on the generation of split ends have been investigated by auto-brushing machine as an accelerative method which is closer to the actual hair care process. These results strongly suggested that the important factor of the split ends formation was due to the structural changes of amorphous matrix proteins of hair fibers. We found that a diethylene glycol monoethylether (Ethyl Carbitol; EC) treatment was the most effective of all treatments we tested in inhibiting the split ends generation of permed hair, and EC treated permed hair behaved almost identically with untreated normal hair as far as the percentage of split ends generation was concerned.

ある企業より、セラミックプレートを施術面に装着したヘア・アイロンの効果について、他社の機種も含めた市販の他機種と比較したときの、その使用法の相違や利便性、優れた点や欠点についての意見を求められた。そこでこのストレートヘア・アイロンの機能や利便性について、他機種との比較研究を行った。この装置は毛髪との接触面に厚いセラミックプレートが装着してあり、表面はきわめて平滑に調整されている。その施術における効果は、水や薬剤で事前処理した毛髪に適用するとき、一般の機種と同様で差はない。しかしこの機種が他社の機種と根本的に相違して優れている点は、いかなる事前処理も行うことなく、ヘアアイロンのみで毛髪にストレートヘア施術を行うことが出来るところにある。そしてその仕上がりも優れて良好で、キューティクルもきれいに整うことが走査電子顕微鏡像で明らかであった。この効果がいかなるメカニズムで達成されるかについて、さらに研究を進めている。

There have been some remarkable developments in the progress of cancer treatment and in developing infrastructures for outpatient treatment environments. As a result, the five-year survival rate has risen for all types of cancer, and 325,000 cancer patients now undergo outpatient treatment while still holding jobs. However, such patients can have a very difficult time interacting with society due to the changes in physical appearance that accompany cancer treatment. A patient might wonder whether his or her physical appearance would reveal his or her illness, fueling concerns that it would then become impossible to maintain equal relationships as before. In this paper, I consider patient support from the perspective of “hair loss,” which is ranked as the top physical symptom of concern for many cancer patients. I first introduce what is currently known about treatments that result in changes to hair and haircare treatments that can be used during hair loss. I then cover some important points for physicians when supporting patients with actual appearance care.

本稿は,日本と韓国の大学生60組(120名)の日常会話データを用いて,「ほめの談話」の流れを分析し,ほめの前後に行われるやり取りの特徴を明らかにしたものである.1.「ほめの談話」の数は,韓国語のほうが日本語より多い.しかし,一つの「ほめの談話」における発話文数は,日本語のほうが韓国語より多い.2.先行連鎖は韓国語より日本語のほうに多く現れた.とりわけ,相手から導入された話題を相手へのほめにつなげる傾向が多い.一方,韓国語では先行連鎖なしで「ほめ」が行われる傾向が日本語より強い.3.後続連鎖では,日韓ともにほめ手が話題を維持しながら主導している.また,両言語母語話者は相手を一度ほめると,再度ほめる傾向が見られる.また,ほめられた人が後続連鎖を主導する場合,日本語では話題維持が多いのに対し,韓国語では話題転換が日本語より多く見られた.4.一つの「ほめの談話」における発話文数に日韓の差が現れたのは,先行連鎖の有無,ほめに対する返答の長さ,後続連鎖における話題転換の仕方の違いに起因することが分かった.

くせ毛に悩む人や，カールヘアの欧米人の多くはその髪形状を生かしてヘアスタイルを整える。しかし，ストレートヘアと異なり，カールヘアは一本一本形状が異なるため扱いにくく，スタイリングに多大な労力を要する。ツヤがあり浮き毛の少ない位相の揃ったカールに近づけるのはとくに難しく，これを容易にする提案が望まれている。われわれは毛束を構成する髪一本一本の曲率を調べ，位相の揃いやすい毛束は揃いにくい毛束と比べて曲率のばらつきが小さいことを見出した。さらに，2-ナフタレンスルホン酸ナトリウム（SNS）を処理すると，毛髪全体の曲率を均一化でき，ツヤがあり浮き毛の少ない位相の揃った毛束に改質できることがわかった。また，生来のくせ毛では生来の直毛と比べて2種類のコルテックス分布に偏りがあるのと同様に，新たに同一人物の髪においても，曲率の大きい部位は小さい部位と比べてその偏りが大きいことを確認した。SNSによって曲率が均一化される機構は，SNSがコルテックスの分布の偏りを反映してうねりを緩和するためと考えられた。本技術はくせ毛やカールヘアの扱いにくさを改善し，生まれもった髪形状をより魅力的に見せる画期的提案である。

本稿では商品の属性値抽出タスクにおけるエラー分析のひとつの事例研究について報告する．具体的には，属性値辞書を用いた単純な辞書マッチに基づく属性値抽出システムを構築し，人手により属性値がアノテーションされたコーパスに対してシステムを適用することで明らかとなる False-positive, False-negative 事例の分析を行った．属性値辞書は商品説明文に含まれる表や箇条書きなどの半構造化データを解析することで得られる自動構築したものを用いた．エラー分析は実際のオンラインショッピングサイトで用いられている 5 つの商品カテゴリから抽出した 100 商品ページに対して行った．そして分析を通してボトムアップ的に各事例の分類を行ってエラーのカテゴリ化を試みた．本稿ではエラーカテゴリおよびその実例を示すだけでなく，誤り事例を無くすために必要な処理・データについても検討する．
