    Protected production of crops such as vegetables, flowers, and fruits has been more popular in many countries. To secure stable productivity and profitability, continuous and intensive monitoring and control of protected crop production environment is critical, which is labor- and time-consuming. Failure to maintain proper environmental conditions (e.g., light, temperature, humidity) leads to significant damage to crop growth and quality; therefore, farmers should visit or be present close to the production area. To overcome these problems, application of remote monitoring and control of crop production environment has been increasing, and mobile phones have recently been used to utilize message and remote access services. Levels of technology adoption are different for farmers' needs for their cropping systems. In this paper, the potential of wireless remote monitoring and control of protected agricultural environment using mobile phones were evaluated under 3G and Wi-Fi communication conditions.     . For the short message service, data transmission time under 3G was affected by communication path, but not significantly affected by signal intensity level. For the

    , data communication speeds were affected by signal intensity, location, time of day (i.e., the number of users), and moving speed. For 3 G communication, data download and upload speeds decreased as signal intensity level became lower. For Wi-Fi communication, effects of location, signal intensity, and communication direction on the data transmission speeds were statistically significant (α = 0.05) in most of the cases. The effects of time of day were not clear for both 3G and Wi-Fi conditions, but data download speed was significantly (α = 0.05) affected by moving speed (0 and 100 km/h). When the
    remote

    was applied for greenhouse environment control (e.g., window motor activation), remote access and control were successfully achieved within 13.74 s and 1.08 s, respectively, regardless of signal intensity, location, and moving speed within the tested conditions. Although the results of the study may vary at different communication conditions (e.g., different service provider), overall trends would be still valid and provide useful guidelines to farmers for application of remote monitoring and control using mobile phones.

     名古屋掖済会病院では2002年より医療情報連携システム(エキサイネット)運用を開始し継続している。今後、より広く効果的にシステムが活用されることにより、地域医療連携に貢献しかつ患者サービスが向上することを目的としている。エキサイネットを介して閲覧できる医療情報は、診療予約、検査予約、空床状況、オーダー情報(病名、投薬・注射・検査・処置)、検査結果、診療録、観察項目、DICOM 画像、所見レポート、ストリーミング映像、など重要な個人情報である。特に異なる診療所・病院間で医療情報を共有する時、組織母体の違いによる障害やセキュリティ対策に取り組むことが、地域完結型医療を推進する上でもっとも重要事項である。これまで様々な通信方式を試してきた結果、PKI〈Public Key Infrastructure〉-USB、SSL-VPN〈Secure Socket Layer Virtual Private Network〉方式がコスト面と信頼性において優れ、本システムのセキュリティ面を支える重要な因子である。現段階でも地域連携クリティカルパスを円滑に運用していく上で多くの障害を抱えているが、本システムはその障害を克服するための有効な手段と考える。

    ネットワーク上で利用できる情報サービスの拡大に伴い,本人認証の重要性がこれまで以上に増している.情報システムヘのアクセスにおいて本人認証によるシステムセキュリティの構築が急務であり,パスワードに代わる便利で確実な本人認証手段として指紋認証に対する関心が高まっている.据え置き型の指紋認証装置は入退室管理等において利用されてきたが,技術革新が進んできた今日では,装置の小型化・低価格化が可能となり,モバイル環境においてパーソナルユースに用いることも期待できる.ここでは,「いつでも」「どこでも」「登録した人だけ」が,さまざまなサービスを簡単に安心して利用できることをコンセプトとした,キーホルダサイズで個人専用の指紋認証トークンシステムについて紹介する.

    TriFellows was developed as a process data management system. TriFellows provides enough functions to collect, archive and monitor DCS data and reduce the time required to make critical business decisions at low cost in manufacturing environment TriFellows is based on individual modules based on PCs. It was released in July 1995 and over 100 systems has been shipped until August 1996. In the industry of papers and pulps, we already shipped about 20 systems and have received a lot of inquiries. I will introduce the concepts and functions of TriFellows to you in some pages.

    The change of received signal strength index and packet loss rate under 2.4 GHz radio communication in a persimmon orchard in flowering phase was investigated. Texas CC2530 RF chip and the TinyOS system based WSN nodes were selected as instruments to conduct interwoven tests along a column of persimmon trees and different rows and columns of the orchard, and measure the receiving signal strength and packet loss rate which were in the three different heights from 0.80 m at the bottom of the canopy to 2.80 m at the top. In the tests, distance of each three trees was set as a tested distance, and there were eight tested distances in each row or column totally. Afterwards, all the obtained data underwent regression analysis. The results showed that when the transmitter and receiver were maintained at a fixed height, the received signal strength decreased, while the packet loss rate increased with the augment of tested distance. Furthermore, under the two situations where receiver was at the fringe of persimmon orchard and both transmitter and receiver were in the orchard, the models of signal strength attenuation affected by different factors along a row of persimmon tree were established and evaluated. Additionally, the curved surface graphs of different transceiver heights and different ranks of trees which were drawn by MATLAB software was able to reflect wireless signal transmission characteristics in persimmon orchard straightly.

    Automation via the internet has recently received considerable attention. The prime objective of internet-based process automation underlies, among many others, the feasibility of remote monitoring and control of a wide range of distributed and collaborative experimental and manufacturing tools and machineries. Such emphasis would adopt the recent software and hardware development technologies. This paper investigates the minimal hardware and software requirements to design and implement a fully functional academic and industrial automation system that can be readily attached to the available internet/intranet infrastructure. Three tiers mainly constitute the proposed system, the instrumentation and measurement tier, the software platform (for data collection, processing, displaying, and communication), and the client-server tier. The common controller-based techniques, such as PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and DAQ (Data Acquisition) platforms can be very well employed in such applications without sophistication burdens. Eventually, the ultimate intentions of having engineers and technical operators to monitor, control, maintain, and calibrate factory equipment, or students involved in lab experimentation, from local or remote distances can be successfully achieved around the clock. Previous and current practical implementation examples will be verified to assess the feasibility range of existing techniques and their implications.

    Active Directory (AD) is widely used as an authentication server in many organizations. AD centrally manages users and computers and their authentications. Thus, it is very useful but also tends to be leveraged by attackers. Attacks leveraging ADs such as a Silver Ticket have been observed, but they are challenging to detect since they abuse specifications of Kerberos authentication, not vulnerabilities.

    Recently, some organizations have been migrating their AD environment to Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) and operating hybrid environments on-premise AD and Azure AD. In some forms of hybrid environments, seamless single sign-on, called SSSO can be an option; SSSO allows the on-premise AD Kerberos Ticket to be used for authentication to some Azure services as well. In such an environment, attackers can compromise the on-premise AD and abuse the Silver Ticket to spread the compromise to Azure services.

    Not only in a hybrid environment but also in an on-premise environment, detection of the Silver Ticket exploits is difficult. In this study, we especially focus on the behavior that the client computers always request the Service Ticket to the Domain Controller every time they access the Azure services if the Kerberos Ticket expiration time setting is reduced to 10 minutes (default value is 600 minutes.) Our study introduces a method to detect the abuse of the Silver Ticket in SSSO environments with high detection accuracy. We also introduce a detection method for malicious access to the on-premise Domain Controller with the Silver Ticket.
