    This study presents features of

    , issues identified, and modifications made during operational trials.
    SAKURA
    enables learners of Japanese to practice writing email from beginner level and up. While developing
    SAKURA
    , a "Data Collection System" was used to collect basic data from 16 email tasks at beginner and intermediate levels. After developing
    SAKURA
    , the basic data was used to extract a "Mistake List" and "Essential Expression List". These lists were added to
    SAKURA
    when conducting operational trials. Names of advice types and classification criteria were modified to match the learner’s Japanese ability.

    In 2017, two candidate species of Mycena were reported from Japan, with the Japanese names “Togari-

    sakura
    -take” and “Mitsuhida-
    sakura
    -take
    ”. However, to date, no taxonomic study or formal description has been undertaken for these two species. In the present study, we conducted comprehensive morphological and molecular phylogenetic examinations of “Togari-
    sakura
    -take
    ” and “Mitsuhida-
    sakura
    -take
    ”, and compared them to known species within the genus Mycena. We performed phylogenetic analyses on a concatenated dataset, including the internal transcribed spacer region of ribosomal RNA, RNA polymerase II largest subunit, and translation elongation factor-1 alpha genes. “Togari-
    sakura
    -take
    ” formed a clade with Mycena subulata, which was recently described from China, whereas “Mitsuhida-
    sakura
    -take
    ” formed a distinct independent clade. We identified the former as M. subulata based on molecular phylogenetic analyses and morphological observations. However, the Japanese specimens displayed dextrinoid cheilocystidia and caulocystidia as well as the inamyloidity of basidiospores, which differed from the original description of M. subulata based on the materials from China. “Mitsuhida-
    sakura
    -take
    ” was characterized by its remarkably dense lamellae and could be distinguished from known Mycena species by the combination of absent pleurocystidia and presence of bowling pin-shaped cheilocystidia. Here, we describe “Mitsuhida-
    sakura
    -take
    ” as a new species, named Mycena densilamellata, in the section Calodontes.

    Sakura
    quartz, which shows cherry blossom-like texture on the (0001) cross-section, occurs from Obira mine in Oita prefecture, Japan. The unique texture was analyzed by using CL, EBSD, EPMA, BSE, and OPM. The texture includes numerous solid and liquid inclusions, and is composed of Brazil twin lamellae and Dauphine twin domains. The texture would be named as
    sakura
    texture after
    sakura
    -ishi (cerasite), which was a variety of cordierite. The quartz crystal with the
    sakura
    texture grew by two growth stages. At the first stage, numerous inclusions were incorporated into the milky part and the growth bands are indistinct. In contrast, growth bands were clearly observed at the second stage. The
    sakura
    texture developed at the first stage. Almost all quartz crystals from Obira mine have the
    sakura
    texture, and the texture formed on replacement process at late greisenization. The
    sakura
    texture is a characteristic feature of quartz from skarn deposit.

    In late years, flower viewing of
    Sakura
    presents the phenomenon of the boom. However, there is few document about the flower viewing of
    Sakura
    in China. Therefore, this study is intended to grasp circumstances of "the flower viewing" in modern China. Though the survey of internet, news and document, it could be said that in 1972 the
    Sakura
    had been often given to China by various interchange as the friendship, and in 1980’s and 90’s the
    Sakura
    was planted as a symbol of interchange between China and Japan. The flower viewing spot of the
    Sakura
    has grown to 56 locations by now days. Though the field work, it could be said that plants form of the
    Sakura
    has 4 patterns, there are forests, forest along the line of mall, groups, and Row of trees. Each place has its own characteristic that is different from the spots in Japan, and is already gotten high evaluation in China. The Chinese enjoy the
    Sakura
    with walking and without drinking or eating.
    Sakura
    not only plays a role as the cultural exchange, but also become the new purpose object of recreation and the education of culture between the young people in China.

      "DURATECT" is a surface hardening technology unique to Citizen Watch Co., Ltd. “

    PINK” was developed as a new color of “DURATECT”. “

    PINK” is composed of a hardened layer, an adhesive layer, and a gold alloy layer on the surface of titanium, and has a color inspired by cherry blossoms. By coating hardened layers, Vickers hardness exceeding 1000 HV and scratch resistance were realized. This product using “DURATECT

    The vertical deformations of the earth's crust in the vicinity of Aira Caldera were studied from the results of precise levelling surveys and observations of the sea level by means of tide gauges. Relative vertical deformation of Volcano
    Sakura
    -jima in recent years were obtained from the continuous observation data of the mean sea level between Kagoshima and Hakamagoshi. Upheaval movements of Volcano
    Sakura
    -jima were also revealed from the results of precise levelling surveys around Kagoshima Bay run in 1960 and repeated in 1962. Those two results were not so contradictory to the amount of the vertical displacements between Kagoshima and Volcano
    Sakura
    -jima. The great
    Sakura
    -jima eruptions in 1914 was followed by abnormal changes in the height of the mean sea level of Kagoshima Bay. In recent years, the relative elevation of B. M. 2474 was recovering as high as that had been in 1891 before the great eruptions in 1914. Those facts may suggest the gradual accumulations of the powerful volcanic tension under the center of Aira Caldera.

    This thesis tries to demonstrate the important role that the partnership system between farmers and developers led by the former has played in realizing the land consolidation project for enlarged paddy field, above all building a consensus among the parties concerned. The land consolidation project so realized has two types, the one involves developers and the other is of purely agricultural sector. The case I chose is Inbanuma Land Improvement District in Chiba Prefecture.
    Among the areas in that district, Yachiyo area and
    Sakura
    area are the ones where the land consolidation projects for enlarged paddy field that involve developers are in progress. And of the two, the parties in
    Sakura
    area have realized the more appropriate project for making rice farming more productive.
    In
    Sakura
    area, where the farmers are engaged in the progressive land consolidation projects for enlarged paddy field, those projects have been realized in larger units. The reason for this is that the famers in
    Sakura
    are effectively making use of the partnership system between farmers and developers which is achieved and kept effective in Inbanuma Land Improvement District.
    What makes the farmers in
    Sakura
    area make use of that system is the fact that the system enables people other than farmers to participate in those projects and so exempts farmers from payment for construction.
    In my Opinion, to promote the land consolidation projects for enlarged paddy field in present Japan, farmers must cooperate with those engaged in other industries. In Inbanuma Land Improvement District, a committee is organized for discussing land consolidation projects for enlarged paddy field so that farmers will be exempted from the burden of paying the construction cost by those engaged in the construction sector.
    Sakura
    area is an area where farmers are utilizing this committee effectively, and, due to this fact, land consolidation projects for enlarged paddy field which disburdens farmers of payment for construction are being promoted.

    Holophryxus fusiformis Shiino, 1937, a species of dajid isopod that attaches to the carapace of

    sakura
    shrimp, Lucensosergia lucens (Hansen, 1922), is reported from the sea of Taiwan for the first time. This species was first described as infesting Prehensilosergia prehensilis (Bate, 1881) from Kanbara, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The current finding represents the second occurrence of H. fusiformis and identifies a new host. Approximately 1% of the
    sakura
    shrimps in Yilan, Taiwan are infected by H. fusiformis. Holophryxus fusiformis has been found offshore from both Yilan, Taiwan and Nagasaki and in Suruga Bay, Japan; thus, the distribution of the parasite possibly follows the Kuroshio Current. When large quantities of parasites occur in the sea of Taiwan, the parasites are likely to flow into the Japanese waters along with the Kuroshio Current, subsequently influencing the production of the Japanese
    sakura
    shrimps. The establishment of a monitoring program for infection of the dajid in
    sakura
    shrimps between Taiwan and Japan is recommended. This study provides additional information on this species, including a new host, distribution, redescription, infection rate, and morphological variation.

    The horizontal deformations of the earth’s crust at two volcanic areas in Kyusyu, Japan have been observed with repeated measurements of the base-line lengths by means of a Geodimeter AGA Model 6 since 1968 and their results for the last three years are reported. In the
    Sakura
    -jima area, the network consisted of five base-lines was constructed on the western flank of the volcano
    Sakura
    -jima. Each base-line changes its length monotonously for the last three years and principal strain are deduced to be 4∿5×10-6/year (NNE-SSW) and 0~-1×10-6/year (ESE-WNW). This results are similar to the manner of horizontal deformations of the earth's crust in the vicinity of
    Sakura
    -jima at the great
    Sakura
    -jima eruption in 1914 which was found by the triangulations after the eruption (F. Omori, 1920). On the other hand, just after the 1968 Ebino-Yoshimatsu earthquake swarm, a base-line network was established at Yoshimatsu area, western part of Kakuto caldera, where a part of epicentral region is involved. Each base-line changes its length irregularly for the last three years. Taking errors into consideration, we cannot drew any definite conclusions at present for the horizontal deformations in this area, but it seems that there is some correspondence between direction of axes of principal strains and the distributions of initial motion of P wave of Ebino-Yoshimatsu earthquakes (pull~contraction : push~extension).

    The characteristic curve and the multiple-exposure method (MEM) are most commonly used in order to transform the density distribution of the slit image into the line spread function (LSF) in measuring the LSF of radiographic screen-film systems.
    SAKURA
    PDM-5 or
    SAKURA
    PDS-15 is generally used as a microdensitometer to measure the characteristic curve in that method. However, the density dependence was found out in using
    SAKURA
    PDS-15. The new method presented here made it possible to measure the LSF completely independent of any kind of microdensitometer. This method is characterized by using "micro-blackness characteristic (MBC) curve", together with the preexposure method (PEM), both of which were developed by Uchida. This method was proved useful by our experiment to obtain the LSF almost independent of any microdensitometer. The LSF obtained by the PEM well corresponded with that obtained by the MEM.

    HASEGAWA Shigure (1879-1941) is known for Kyūbun Nihonbashi, Kindai bijinden, and others. Some of her Kabuki plays and dance pieces are often performed even today.

    Sakura
    -fubuki is Hasegawa's second Kabuki play, first performed by ONOE Kikugorō VI at Kabuki-za in February 1911 and much appreciated by Kabuki actors and producers. This paper points out that the play took the story from “Katsuko” in “Meiryo-Kohan” written in the Edo era, paying particular attention to the nun in the play, named Sayuri.

     「さくらさくら」は我が国を代表する歌として内外に広く知られているが, その唱歌としての成立過程や, 学校音楽教育の必須の教材として位置付けられる過程については解明されずに今日まで, 「日本古謡」として扱われてきた。本稿は, 明治21年発行『箏曲集』の「櫻」の原曲についてのこれまでの諸説を整理し, この「櫻」を原曲とする唱歌「さくらさくら」が学校音楽教育の中で重要な位置を占めるに至った過程を明らかにすることを目的とするものである。研究の結果, 現行の「さくらさくら」の楽曲としての原曲は『箏曲集』所載の「櫻」と位置付けられること, しかし山田流箏曲の手ほどき歌として以外には『箏曲集』編纂の前後から昭和前期に至るまで「櫻」が広く歌われていたという形跡が見られないことが明らかとなった。「さくらさくら」が教材として確固とした位置を得るのは, 国民学校期芸能科音楽で『うたのほん 下』に『箏曲集』の「櫻」の替え歌として掲載されて以降のことである。従って, この「さくらさくら」を「日本古謡」とすることの妥当性が問われるべきである。

    In Agrobacterium tumefaciens, the stability of Ti plasmids differs depending on the strain. So far, little is known about genes that cause the difference in stability. The repABC operon is responsible for replication and incompatibility of Ti plasmids. We constructed recombinant plasmids carrying the repABC operon and different portions of pTi-
    SAKURA
    . Cells having the recombinant plasmids that harbored a 2.6-kbp NheI fragment of pTi-
    SAKURA
    were found to be transformed via conjugation 100-fold less frequently with a small incompatible repABC plasmid than cells having the recombinant plasmids lacking the 2.6-kbp NheI fragment. Since the phenomenon occurred only when the resident and incoming plasmids belonged to the same incompatibility group, it was suggested that the 2.6-kbp NheI fragment bears the potential enhancing incompatibility. The fragment contained an operon consisting of two open reading frames, tiorf24 and tiorf25. tiorf24 is an orphan gene, whereas tiorf25 is a homologue of a group of plasmid stability genes. Removal of the 2.6-kbp fragment from the resident pTi-
    SAKURA
    increased the resident plasmid ejection ratio by the incoming repABC plasmid, whereas addition of the fragment to pTiC58 decreased the ejection ratio, and the loss ratio during growth at 37°C. These data suggest that tiorf24 and tiorf25 are responsible for the stability of pTi-
    SAKURA
    , and reduce, in the host bacterium, the frequency of ejection of the resident plasmid, presumably through an incompatibility mechanism.

    We isolated a crown gall tumor-inducing nopaline type Ti plasmid from Agrobacterium tumefaciens on a
    Sakura
    Japanese cherry tree, and designated it as pTi-
    SAKURA
    . By primer walking sequencing with long PCR and a newly developed PCR subcloning technique for long insert DNA, we completed DNA sequencing of the most important functional unit, the virulence (vir) region of pTi-
    SAKURA
    , which is indispensable for T-DNA transfer into the plant’s chromosomes. By homology searches with the vir genes of other bacterial plasmids, we identified 11 open reading frames (orfs) and 31 genes and 11 vir box, which are 6 bp regulatory sequences. In total, 26 vir genes, including the putative virF and virK and the main vir region, were present as the vir gene cluster. The presence of vir box, GC content, codon usage and expression analysis in these genes led us to propose a new vir region.

    Thirty-nine paddy pesticides and 11 of their metabolites were monitored in the
    Sakura
    River during the rice cultivation season in 2007 and 2008. Pesticide concentrations in the river water depended on the timing of pesticide application. Herbicides that were shipped to Ibaraki Prefecture in large amounts or had high water solubility, a low soil adsorption constant value, or large usage rates were detected at high peak concentrations. The concentrations of nursery-box-applied fungicides and insecticides peaked immediately after transplanting. The concentrations of pesticide metabolites, such as bromobutide-desbromo, cafenstrol-descarbamoyl, clomeprop-propionic acid, carbofuran, and fenthion-sulfoxide depended on the degradation rates and metabolic pathways of the parent compounds and on the stability of the metabolites in water and soil. Clomeprop-propionic acid, carbofuran, and fenthion-sulfoxide, which were formed from rapidly degradable pesticides, were detected at much higher peak concentrations than the parent compounds.

    The shelf-life of “
    sakura
    -dembu”, seasoned cod meals, is not long because of discoloration or browning.
    The phenomena were considered to be caused partly by rays.
    The authors prepared cod meals, each of which was colored with one ingredient of coloring substance and adjusted each of the water contents ranging from 5 to 30%.
    Each of all the materials was divided into three groups and packed with three film materials having different permeability against rays and oxygen. All samples were irradiated with ultraviolet ray and then the differences of color were measured.
    The results are as follows:
    (1) The least discoloration was measured with the “
    sakura
    -dembu” samples packed with the film having the lowest permeability against ultraviolet ray.
    (2) The strongest discoloration was found with the samples colored with Red 103 or Red 104. The discolortion of “
    sakura
    -dembu” products may be caused chiefly by that of these coloring substances.
    (3) The higher the water content of the sample was, the stronger the discoloration by irradiation with ultraviolet ray was. However, the curves of the increase of discoloration versus water content were not exponential; but distinct increases were noticed with the samples with water contents between 10 and 20%.

     サクラエビ筋肉の脂肪酸組成を用いて産地判別と食性推定を試みた。サクラエビ筋肉の主要な脂肪酸はC16:0, C18:1n-9, C20:5n-3, C22:6n-3であった。脂肪酸組成を用いて構築した判別式による駿河湾産と台湾産の予測的中率は90%であったことから,脂肪酸組成による両者の判別は可能と考えられた。また,駿河湾産,台湾産ともにサクラエビの体重とC18:1n-9/C18:1n-7比との間に正の相関がみられたことから,サクラエビは成長に伴い植食から肉食へと食性を変化させていく可能性が示唆された。
