    with specified low-power radio station equipment via multiple small flying objects constellations to achieve the data relay communication system. The unmanned small flying vehicles, such as drones or multicopters with specified low-power radio transmitters provide responsiveness. The small satellite with high sensitivity receiver and high-speed transmitter achieves wide-area communication, and robustness for on-ground disasters. The system concept and design policies are evaluated by rough numerical studies with realistic hardware constraints. The results show the feasibility of the proposed concept with the specific case study.

    intelligence. The whole system consists of a core machine for pre-training and many terminal machines to accomplish faster responses. Each machine is one of dual-hemisphere models which are made of left and right hemispheres. The left hemisphere is used to improve latency by terminal response and the right hemisphere is used to improve communication by data generation. In an application on multimedia service, the proposed model is superior to the latest deep feed forward neural network in the data center with respect to the accuracy, latency and communication. Evaluation shows scalable improvement with regard to the number of terminal machines. Evaluation also shows the cost of improvement is longer learning time.

    A compact antenna capable of generating two wide operating bands to cover the GSM850/900 (824-960MHz) and GSM1800/1900/UMTS (1710-2170MHz) systems is presented. The antenna occupies just 81.5(L)×7(W)×0.5(H)mm3 on the top edge of the supporting metal frame of the display panel, and is therefore easily embedded in the ultra-thin laptop computers as an internal antenna. The antenna is implemented using a ceramic substrate and consists of multi-branch strips. Based on the principle of the inverted-F antenna, our design yields two operating bands covering 816-983MHz and 1703-2196MHz can be achieved with good radiation performance for our design.      CSCWは計算機科学と社会科学の協力により,グループウェアのデザインとそれが及ぼす組織的社会的インパクトについて研究する学際的研究分野である.このCSCWの概念に基づき,医療連携ネットワーク構築の実証実験を北多摩北部二次医療圏と西東京臨床糖尿病研究会の協力のもと行ったので報告する.

    A new architecture of the wireless terminal to creating the polarization rotating wave (RPW) using conventional RF chip and SoC which consists of CPU and FPGA is proposed. The prototype radio of this architecture was manufactured and tested by field experiments. Experimental results show that the prototype radios achieved a high-quality wireless data transfer by using RPW.

    Social Medical Corporation Kojinkai has established multiple hospitals in the eastern region of Hokkaido Prefecture. Each facility is using our
    wide

    and the electronic medical record system. Clinical laboratory technologists of various levels of experience have also been performing carotid ultrasonography at each facility. Carotid ultrasonography has been reported using the unified report system and criteria of our facilities. We discuss here whether differences exist between each of our facilities in the results of carotid ultrasonography. We performed photographic surveillance to determine the inter-rater agreement of clinical laboratory technologists. Weighted kappa values between clinical laboratory technologists were good. As a result, the quality control of test results for carotid ultrasonography was considered to be maintained, and was enabled using the unified report by seeing the same pictures in real time and allowing discussion between facilities. The

In order to verify the proposed LPWAN communication technology, sensors, and sensor deployment, we built LoRa and NB-IoT communication equipment (including repeat equipment) and various sensors to transmit the real-time sensing data in the Fushan Botanical Garden with the most diverse and complex terrain in Taiwan. The returned data also proves the successful operation of various communication devices and sensors.

    . In this paper, we propose a new secure framework based on public key infrastructure for providing dynamic healthcare information services through a

    . It providessecurity of service, scalability of connected networks and seamless connection between intranets and the Internet. Although the framework refers to Kerberos, it is actually completely different in that it is based on public key infrastructure. In addition a proxy server is introduced to the framework as a countermeasure to denial-of-service attacks. We conducted preliminary experiments demonstrating that the framework possesses the same level of processing efficiency as Kerberos and about three times more robustness against denial-of-service attacks.

    (LPWAN) is designed for low-bandwidth, low-power, long-distance, large-scale connected IoT applications and realistic for networking in an emergency or restricted situation, so it has been proposed as an attractive communication technology to handle unexpected situations that occur during and/or after a disaster. However, the traditional LPWAN with its default protocol will reduce the communication efficiency in disaster situation because a large number of users will send and receive emergency information result in communication jams and soaring error rates. In this paper, we proposed a LPWAN based decentralized network structure as an extension of our previous Disaster Information Sharing System (DISS). Our network structure is powered by Named Node Networking (3N) which is based on the Information-Centric Networking (ICN). This network structure optimizes the excessive useless packet forwarding and path optimization problems with node name routing (NNR). To verify our proposal, we conduct a field experiment to evaluate the efficiency of packet path forwarding between 3N+LPWA structure and ICN+LPWA structure. Experimental results confirm that the load of the entire data transmission network is significantly reduced after NNR optimized the transmission path.

This paper proposes an application of digital coherent technology for establishing optical interconnection between the movable ICT resource unit and existing network nodes through a photonic network, rapidly, easily and with the minimum in manual work. We develop a prototype of a 100Gbit/s digital coherent transponder which is installable to our movable and deployable ICT resource unit and experimentally confirm the robust and immediate connection by virtue of the plug and play function.

    This research aimed to analyze of the mechanism for sustainable development of

    organization, from the perspective of fluid human resource management focusing on the spatial movement of volunteers and the time axis. In Japan, recently, a movement to re-evaluate discontinued railways as heritage railway and to utilize them for the preservation of local culture and tourism resources is gaining attention. On the other hand, to preserve and utilize sustainable heritage railway, there are issues such as the financial burden on local governments and the securing of human resources. Therefore, it is necessary to construct a

This paper considered the necessary requirements for working adults with diverse experiences and specialized knowledge to participate continuously as volunteers. As a result of analyzing the case of the Kosaka Railway Preservation Society, it is conclusion that network organization can achieve sustainable development by coordinating different organizational evolution directions based on a bottom-up approach and time management.

    In this paper, we propose a novel Autonomous Decentralized Control (ADC) scheme for indirectly controlling a system performance variable of large-scale and wide-area networks. In a large-scale and

    , since it is impractical for any one node to gather full information of the entire network, network control must be realized by inter-node collaboration using information local to each node. Several critical network problems (e.g., resource allocation) are often formulated by a system performance variable that is an amount to quantify system state. We solve such problems by designing an autonomous node action that indirectly controls, via the Markov Chain Monte Carlo method, the probability distribution of a system performance variable by using only local information. Analyses based on statistical mechanics confirm the effectiveness of the proposed node action. Moreover, the proposal is used to implement traffic-aware virtual machine placement control with load balancing in a data center network. Simulations confirm that it can control the system performance variable and is robust against system fluctuations. A comparison against a centralized control scheme verifies the superiority of the proposal.

    In this paper, in order to efficiently solve a large-scaled and complicated optimization problem, the framework of applications integration on the Grid is proposed. In the proposed framework, application holders publish their own applications as a service, which provides four basic functions using the GridRPC system. These functions enable end-users to invoke applications and to exchange input/output files among services. Therefore, end-users can design arbitrary applications integration through the

    network
    by just selecting services and combining the provided functions. In addition, we also propose the Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). These APIs enable the service to invoke the designed applications integration. Therefore, end-users can solve their own optimization problems by constructing the optimization system. In this paper, we implement the proposed framework and APIs using the NetSolve system, which is one of the GridRPC systems. Through computational simulation examples, it was found that the overhead time of our implementation is very short compared to the calculation time of optimization. We also found that the optimization system of our implementation can be used practically in the

    . Therefore, it can be expected that the proposed framework and APIs are efficient for designing the optimization problem solving system on the Grid.

    Based on the lessons learned from the East Japan Great Earthquake of March 11, 2011, the authors have been engaged in the research and development of movable and deployable information and communication technology (ICT) resource units (MDRUs), which provide immediate and minimally required ICT service in areas struck by disaster. The MDRU is a transportable unit that contains equipment necessary for ICT service provisions and is designed to be quickly transported to and set up in affected areas after a natural disaster has struck. The unit is used to quickly construct a wireless local network in the area, and thus provide immediate and minimally required ICT service to the people in the area. In this paper, we describe MDRU technology and other technologies that lead to improved performance and/or service when connected or linked up with the unit. Along with this development, we have conducted various activities aimed at its international deployment. Specifically, we conducted trials with resident participation in the Philippines and Nepal to verify the validity of these technologies overseas, where we were able to confirm its validity under various conditions. Furthermore, we have undertaken activities for its standardization, and have succeeded in the standardization of MDRU at International Telecommunication Union Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T).

    Network testbeds have been used for network measurement and experiments. In such testbeds, resources, such as CPU, memory, and I/O interfaces, are shared and virtualized to maximize node utility for many users. A few studies have investigated the impact of virtualization on precise network measurement and understood Internet traffic characteristics on virtualized testbeds. Although scheduling latency and heavy loads are reportedly affected in precise network measurement, no clear conditions or criteria have been established. Moreover, empirical-statistical criteria and methods that pick out anomalous cases for precise network experiments are required on userland because virtualization technology used in the provided testbeds is hardly replaceable. In this paper, we show that ‘oversize packet spacing’, which can be caused by CPU scheduling latency, is a major cause of throughput instability on a virtualized network testbed even when no significant changes occur in well-known network metrics. These are unusual anomalies on virtualized network environment. Empirical-statistical analysis results accord with results at previous work. If network throughput is decreased by the anomalies, we should carefully review measurement results. Our empirical approach enables anomalous cases to be identified. We present CPU availability as an important criterion for estimating the anomalies.
