A simple electrostatic capasitor model incorporated charge generating element (four capasitor model) is shown to have the characteristics in good agreement with the experimental values obtained by dual component development system.
The charge generating element is characterized by a capasitor, which represents properties of releasing free charged toner particles in proportion to the quantity of the particles and to the residual field on the toner attracted photoreceptor layer.
The equation derived from the model is expressed as below,
Q=
γε0(
Vs/
Vr)/(
ds/
Ks+
dt/
kt+
dc/
kcθ+
dd/
αθtckcM),
γ=1−exp(−
tg/
rgC).
The difference between the theory and the experiments by monocomponent development is also discussed.
All the experiments shown here have been performed by using a new charging method in which the charge is produced by the transport of water ions in applied field.
