In order to explain the basics and progress of Aqueous vinyl polymer solution-isocyanate adhesives for wood（API）, the composition, reaction mechanism, and adhesive performance of API were briefly explained. Next, I wrote my opinion on the future progress based on what I heard from the manufacturer about the current commercial products. In API basics, the reaction mechanism, adhesive properties, adhesive performance, strengths, weaknesses, and features were explained, and heat resistant adhesive performance and JAS classification of Glulam were compared with resorcinol resin. Next, as the progress of API, the results of interviews with API manufacturers were reported, and finally the future prospects were described. When using an adhesive, it is considered important to know its contents and know its performance. APIs will be different for different manufacturers and product numbers. It is important to understand the characteristics, usage, problems, etc. when using them, understand the molecular structure, viscoelasticity, properties as adhesives, adhesive performance, etc., and use them properly. API development should continue in the future to meet unclear points and new requirements, and I expect it.
