There are 3 basic elemens in the system designed and built : a vibration table with a pilot valve servo-motor, a hydaulic power unit, and a electronic control unit. Input signal which is generated by an oscillator or a data-recorder is combined with the feed-back signal from the vibration table, and is supplied to the torque-motor coil driving the spool of the servo-valve. Theoretical calculations are made to determine the dynamic characteristics of the pilot valve servo-motor and the closed loop frequency responses of the system. Experimental studies are made in two cases : the closed loop frequency response test, and optional tape input test of the system. (a ground motion of an earthquake is recorded in the tape.) The results are summarized as follows : (1) The wave form of the vibration table is good. (2) Availabe optional inputs include random noise, tape recorded ground motion of an earthquake, etc. (3) Large forces can be provided relatively easily. (4) Combinations of servo-motors can be progammed to provide vibrating motion in any combination of 6 components of motion.
