These days there are problems of improvement to vacant houses with a decrease in population. The purpose of this study is to examine the method of improvements to the vacant houses while focusing on the demolition clearance. The investigation of the policies is based on the data of the questionnaires and interviews for local governments. The main purpose of demolition clearance for the old dangerous vacant houses is to protect residential area from natural disasters. The additional research on the improvements to the vacant lots where vacant houses has been demolished should be considered.
