Part II. Germination Promotant for Rice Plant Seeds, produced by Streptomyces sp. S-580. Culture Condition and Extraction of the Active Crude Syrup (A. C. S.)

The culture filtrate of the Streptomyces sp. S-580 showed strong activity in promoting the germination of rice plant seeds. The culture conditions of the strain and fractionation of the active principles from the culture filtrate were investigated. The active crude syrup (A. C. S.) obtained is effective at the dilution of 10^_??_ _??_ 10^-8 for the germination of rice plant seeds, 10^-5 _??_ 10^_??_ for barley and oats seeds.
