This paper presents a numerical technique for determining the phase center of an antenna on the basis of the distance dependence of the gain, which is measured using the Friis transmission equation. The proposed gain-fitting technique is based on the numerical simulation of the two-antenna method using the method of moments with higher-order basis functions. The phase center of a standard-gain horn antenna is determined using the proposed method, and the results show the effectiveness of this approximation technique.
