Isolation of galactomannan from the culture medium of Trichophyton rubrum by means of Sephadex gel-filtration and ion-exchange chromatography was described. The galactomannan was not precipitated with Fehling's solution, and the ratio of galactose to mannose was 1 : 2.24, and had a positive specific rotation, [α]18D : +25°.
