To develop a new kind of supramolecular adhesive, we introduced electron-deficient π-system and long alkyl chains into a V-shaped molecule that forms tight columnar stacking. This compound exhibited liquid crystal properties at room temperature, and it works as a pressure-sensitive adhesive for glass substrates. In this presentation, we will discuss synthesis, packing structures, thermal phase transitions, and viscoelastic properties of the pressure-sensitive adhesive.
