Liquid crystalline hole-transport material 2-(4'-alkoxyphenyl)-6-alkylsulfanylbenzothiazole derivatives, in which higher photoconductivities are expected in mesophase with aligning of hopping sites, are newly synthesized and their photoconductive behaviors are studied. Higher photoconductivity are observed in SmA phase in direct excitation with UV light or carrier injection from c-Se layer irradiated by VIS light.
