The author determined the urine quantities in rabbits for eight hours after introducing Ringer-Locke's solution into the vein, the subcutaneous tissue, the peritonial cavity, the stomach or the rectum and obtained the following facts :
If 50 c.c. Ringer-Locke's solution per kilogram is administered to a rabbit, an increase of the urine quantity can evidently be seen only in the intravenous infusion. Peroral administration of 50 c.c. water, however, induces also a slight increase of it. After injecting 200 c.c. of Ringer-Locke's solution per kilogram, an augmentation of the urine amount is always proved in all the modes of administration. This is, then, most marked in the intravenous infusion, next in the subcutaneous injection, and then in the intraperitoneal application.
