Les Misérables, written by Victor Hugo, a writer who was also a republican politician, has many adaptations like musical shows, literature for children, cartoons and animations. Considering the fact that quite a small number of studies have been made to make clear the connections between the original work and its adapted versions, this article focuses on the various adapted counterparts of Les Misérables, especially in the field of literature for children and musical shows. And then to understand characteristic features of adapted counterparts of Les Misérables, comparison will be made with some equivalent works of The Happy Prince of Oscar Wilde and Anne of Green Gable of Lucy Montgomery.
