Maximum possible emittance growth in intense and nonuniform beams with a thermal equilibrium distribution during a transport in a focusing channel is theoretically indicated as a function of tune depression. Nonlinear field energy factor is expressed by a fitting function from results of analysis for the possible emittance growth. The possible emittance growth with thermal equilibrium distribution is rewritten by using the fitting function, and the derivative implies the maximum value of 1.0348 for tune depression of 0.1494.
