When interpreting world news, NHK BS-1 has mainly relied on prepared interpreting. However, due to improved interpreting skills and broadcast technology, they have started to utilize simultaneous interpreting for regular news programming. Although it is a very small step, it has significant meaning in the world of broadcast interpreting. This article examines the differences in simultaneous interpreting and prepared interpreting by analyzing actual interpreting data.
