In this paper, I examine how engineers in Japan technologically generate and experience relationships with information to explore how information straddles the distinction between the “tangible” and “intangible.” I discuss an ethnographic case drawn from Japanese researchers of wearable technologies―what they call “human-centered technologies”―who view their devices as ways for linking the world of ordinary human experience with a world of informatic co-presences.
