Beam control of a low profile antenna using a Dogbone pair structure is presented. The proposed structure is a surface wave antenna on which a 2×2 Dogbone Structure with negative refractive index is arranged. As a result, the radiation pattern is changed from an omni-directional pattern to a narrow beam with an increased gain of 7 dBi, and is directed to a certain direction in accordance with the Dogbone direction.
