In this paper, loss reduction method of laminated core by replacing surface layers with different grade of electrical steel sheets is investigated. There are two possibilities. One is that a worse grade of electric steel sheet on the surface is used to remove the flux concentration. The other is that a better grade is used to reduce the loss. The losses of models using both methods are compared with the original one.
