It is important to examine Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) for the design of the practical use. Finite difference time domain (FDTD) method used to examine the transmission properties. FBG constructed as three-dimensional periodic structures. Graphic processing unit (GPU) calculation is proposed to shorten simulation time. Results of FBG properties and simulation time between Central Processing Unit (CPU) and GPU calculation was compared. Up to 100x faster simulation time by using GPU computation was obtained with indistinguishable result in transmission properties compared to CPU calculations.
