We demonstrate a powerful numerical solution to the scattering of electromagnetic plane wave scattering by periodically slotted perfectly conducting circular cylinder. Based on the periodicity and boundary conditions, the problem is formulated into integral equations for the electric current density that flows in the longitudinal and azimuth directions on the cylinder surface in a unit cell. The Galerkin procedure leads us to a set of linear equations, and its solution gives the far and near fields as well as the power distribution to each grating mode.
