This paper proposes a compact magneto-electric (ME) monopole antenna.Based on the image theory, the lateral size of the conventional ME dipole antenna is reduced by half, by placing a vertical ground plane.The ME monopole antenna was designed at 2.5 GHz.The radiation pattern was unidirectional and low cross polarization are observed.
