In this paper, a design technique to improve the bandwidth of a crossed dipole antenna for circular polarization is introduced. A conventional crossed dipole antenna generates circularly polarized waves using two dipoles connected by a quarter-wavelength feedline. To increase axial ratio bandwidth, the antenna's design was modified by bending the dipoles' straight arms into several radiating segments, and we discovered that it can produce circular polarization more effectively.The optimized crossed dipole antenna was fabricated and tested, yielding an axial ratio bandwidth of 51% that was consistent with our simulation results.
