Cases of primary multiple tumors are rare. A case of rare primary multiple cancers, in stomach and larynx was presented. The patient was 68 year old male who had been complaining of hoarseness in voice since August, 1964.
Hyperkeratosis of both vocal cords was found on his first visit to our clinic in November, 1964. In May, 1965, he began to complain of distension feeling in the epigastrium, and the cardiac cancer (adenocarcinoma) was discovered in him by endoscopic examination.
Gastrectomy was performed next month. The patient had not been conscious of anything wrong in the larynx ten months since the operation, until gradually his left vocal cord became ulcerated, but the movement of his vocal cords was fairly good.
Squamous cell carcinoma was certified by the biopsy of the ulcerated tumor of his left vocal cord. Since the patient would not undergo an operation 60Co 4000 rads was irradiated to the laryngeal cancer twice, before and after the interval of three months. Unfortunately he died ten months after the radiation therapy.
