This study proposes a support system to enhance the plastic model assembly experience: a Unity-based application was developed and implemented that utilizes augmented reality (AR) technology to recognize plastic model runners and highlight the parts required for assembly. Using a smartphone or tablet, the application visually guides the user through the parts to be assembled next and animates each assembly step. using ARKit's object tracking technology, the application recognizes the physical plastic model runner and overlays virtual parts in 3D The ARKit object tracking technology recognizes the physical plastic model runner and overlays the virtual parts in 3D to display progress in real time. Through part numbering and highlighting, users can more intuitively select parts and proceed with assembly. Experiments have confirmed that this system streamlines the plastic model assembly process and allows even beginners to work more comfortably. This application demonstrates the effectiveness of work support using AR technology.
