In recent years, character bento boxes are increasingly being made at home. However, character bento boxes have complicated parts and are difficult to make. Therefore, we propose a system that supports the creation of character bento boxes. First, the user places a character-shaped rice (CSrice) on a designated spot in the system. Next, the system uses image processing to match the CSrice with a pre-registered template. Since the eyes, nose, mouth, etc. are pre-registered in the template, the system knows where to draw the eyes, etc. on the rice. If the matching is successful, a face is automatically drawn on the rice using sprinkles. In addition, it is possible to select multiple materials for drawing the face and to select the same CSrice pattern in response to the recognition of the CSrice placed at an angle. Experiments confirmed that the CSrice can respond to any angle, and can draw faces in a variety of colors and patterns using multiple materials. The above features make it possible to create colorful character bento lunches.
