Abstract

A new pharmaceutical education model core curriculum demands learning general performance as a medical pharmacist by experience-based simulation practice at new pre-clinical training and experiencing many real cases at the long-term students’ practice. Therefore university must evaluate the comprehensive evaluation of the practical clinical competency of the students. At Setsunan University, we set outcome aiming at mastering, specifically, 1. Competency to discover problems by oneself, 2. Competency to observe problems from different angles and standpoint, 3. Competency to carry out with thinking about a solution, 4. Competency to collaborate by teams, 5. Ethic that can consider the mind of the patient, therefore, and are establishing an evaluation system (advanced OSCE). This report is about the result that advanced OSCE carried out for 4th grade and 5th grade.

We evaluated 171 students individually who had completed the students’ practice in 2016 by using a rubric which we designed. Rubrics scores of the fifth grade students meaningful higher than fourth grade students and was able to confirm improvement of competency to solve of the problem. Specifically, the score of ethic and responsibility for medical workers rose greatly.
