A survey of the radiological technicians working at all of the 876 health centers was intended for their working and control conditions, of which the result on blood counts has been reported. Questionnaire was answered from 639 centers (72.9%) by 1,037 technicians, of which 993 gave the results of blood counts. The result indicated a normal distribution in each case of WBC, RBC and hemoglobin level and the mean and standard deviation was 6,625.6±1,541.0/mm^2 (n=993) in WBC, 473.0±43.5×10^4/mm^3 (n=993) in RBC, and 15.18±1.25g/dl (n=957), respectively. These values are in good agreement with those for healthy normal adult male, namely, 6,774.5±1,845.4/mm^3 (n=3,561), 475.5±61.7×10^4/mm^3 (n=3,593), and 15.26±1.71g/dl (n=4,181). No significant difference was observed at 1% level. Similar surveys have been conducted ten times altogether since 1957. Time course in WBC counts was particularly remarkable. The counts progressively increased by time and the coefficient of correlation between the counts and time was 0.955 on the assumption of a linear function. This was the first time when no significant difference was observed between the technicians and normal healthy male. The tendency suggests improvements in these times in technology and control practices among others.
