It is sometimes difficult to obtain a well-positioned radiograph on a special projection or on an unusual patient's position fullfilling a physician's demand with a single exposure. To solve these problems, we made a new device using a digital memory unit which makes an image on CRT with a minimal radiation dose to a patient (1/100-1/150 less radiation when compared to an ordinary exposure). This new device when using just before obtaining a radiograph easily identifies whether a patient is well positioned or whether the angle or the collimation of an X-ray tube is properly set and would, therefore, eliminate unnecessary repeated exposures.
