In recent years, much attention has been attracted on the electrical resistance characteristic of the CFRP laminates resulting from the conductivity of carbon fiber. Using this character, in the present study, the possibility of the use of the CFRP laminate as a smart patch is examined. So, in this study the electrical resistance change and damage behavior of CFRP laminate under static and fatigue loadings is investigated. CFRP used is [±25/±25/90] s laminate, where the edge delamination is the main cause of a fracture and electrical resistance change. In addition, an analysis of the change in Young's modulus resulted from the progress of the delamination is related with the result of the experiments.
