Computer simulation technique of three-dimensional human body motion has been progressed during last several years. It has succeeded in various areas, for example, rehabilitation, welfare engineering, sports engineering, etc. Segment body weight is very important parameter in the simulation, because body force occurred in human motion depend on the segment weight. It is required to get individual segment body weight to make a simulation model considering individual difference. In this study, a measurement system to obtain individual segment body weight was developed. Shift of the center of gravity in the human body is measured while changing posture. At the same time, positions of the body segments are measured by capturing posture image into a computer. Segment body weight can be calculated from the gravity center shift and the segment position. Proposed measurement system was applied to an experiment using a mannequin, and its efficiency was discussed.
