This paper aims to select the evaluation terms by which the meaning structure is represented in examining the meaning structure on design. In addition, it is clarified to distinguish the concept of design expected with another kind of article when the article was evaluated by the selected terms. First, 1,078 terms concerning on design were collected. The representative 76 terms were selected from each group by KJ method. Then, 12 basic cluster was obtained by the cluster analysis, and 3 dimensions were obtained by multidimensional scaling. The stimuli were evaluated by 33 design evaluation terms. When multidimensional scaling (INDSCAL model) was analyzed by the rating value, the concepts of the design articles could be distinguished by each stimulus.
