The purpose of this study is to analyse the balance and proportion of 'Rotis semi-sans' focusing on the letter 'e'. One of the reason why the type Rotis gained a great typographical popularity even in Japan is that this type has, whether consciously or not, designed on the proportional easthetic principles. This is, when we see physical dimens'eens of the typeface and their over all balance, we sense the stability and proportional beauty on the basis of a bodily mechanism.
