The purpose of this study is to identify the individual images of the areas on five private railroad lines in Kansai; Hankyu. Hanshin, keihan, Nankai, Kintetsu. The aim of this paper is to clarify it in terms of the word-image associated with each area, focusing on three types of image-analyses. First, an attempt will be made to explain the structural significance of the individual images that five private railroad line areas have. Secondly, a comparison will be made between subjective images of those people who living along the railroad lines and objective images of those who do not. Finally, the factors forming the individual images of those areas will be shown to be affected by the ' good impressions ' made to people by each image.
