With world wide zooming up of the environmental issue, paper industry is now starting up to aim protecting nature and preventing global warming phenomena. There has been hitherto a tendency to shift the wood pulp as a raw material for paper to various non-wood materials. There are many information and report on the non-wood substances, such as a situation of cultivation, market demand, suitability for paper and so forth, but very few information on dyeing property, durability of the paper based on those substances.
Though there are so many king of the non-wood raw materials for paper, such as traditional ones alike kouzo or Broussonetia kaziinoki, mitumata or Edgeworthia papynfera, rice straw, reed, jute, hemp and etc. This is a test result on dyeing property and fastness property of some dyestuffs applied on kenaf, , bamboo and eucalyptus which seems to be used recently in Japan.
