The increased use of recycled fiber and additives, more complete closure of white water, and high speed machine will have the effect of aggravating deposition. In spite of these adverse trend, the market will still demand high quality products. Therefore, pitch problems are likely to become more severe and important in the future.
Based on laboratory study and mill experience, four parameters that influence the potential for pitch/stickies deposition were identified and combined into a hypothetical function for deposition potential. Pitch/stickies content, its stability, its ability to deposit, and surface affinity for fabrics/rolls are the parameters and we Nippon BetzDearborn K. K. (NBD K. K.) are ready for four technologies ; Microfixation, Stabilisation, Detackification, Passivation. Each technology uses various kind of surfactants, which have low and medium molecular weight, with definite dosage and at optimum feed points. As for pitch control, it is also necessary to analyze the type of deposit, deposit quantity, deposit formation, and system charge.
NBD K. K. makes various approaches to this old and new theme of deposit control and introduces new technologies which have been developed by BetzDearborn with world wide view.
