Abstract
Intra-articular surgical repair of cranial cruciate ligament rupture (CCLR) was performed in clinical bovine cases (Holstein-Friesian, 9 and 10 years old) and 2 experimental ones (Japanese Black, one year old). It was conducted by a modified over-the-top procedure and the patellar wedge technique for replacement of the ligament. It was unsuccessful in the clinical cases because of the occurrence of femoral fracture by failure of care, but brought about marked improvement in the experimental cases. It was found that the surgical repair was effective for CCLR.
