Gray mold of dusty miller（Senecio cineraria）occurred in Hokkaido Prefecture in September 2011. The symptom appeared as leaf rot causing blackish leaves in the plants. The causal agent was identified as Botrytis cinerea on the basis of its morphology and molecular characteristics; it caused leaf rot by inoculation test. This is the first report on gray mold disease in dusty miller in Japan.
