For the future medical diagnostics, high sensitive and simplifi ed bioanalytical devices have been strongly
desired. However, conventional bioanalytical devices such as enzyme-linked immunosrobent assays
(ELISA) have several disadvantages such as high cost apparatus and sophisticated liquid handling. To
overcome these disadvantages of conventional bioanalytical devices, we focused on the specifi c optical
characteristics based on nanophotonics. Nanophotonics is the study of the behavior of light on the
nanometer scale. And the optical characteristics will be drastically changed by the changing of
surrounding refractive index. Based on nanophotonics, more simplifi ed baioanalytical devices can be
developed. However, to develop the nanophotonics-based bioanalytical devices, high cost apparatus
such as an electron beam lithography is required. In this study, to fabricate the nanophotonics-based
devices cost-effectively, photonic crystal which is one of the nanophotonics-based devices was fabricated
using“ Printable photonics technology” based on nanoimprint lithography.
