Non-Contact Layer Thickness Measurement “Layer Check LC1000”

Abstract

The “Layer Check” is a non-contact layer thickness detector newly introduced in the line-up of Hosokawa Wargner’s product. A Variety of thicknesses are required for the powder painting depending upon the kind of products and purposes and it is important to control it constantly in the proper range from the viewpoint of the product quality. Conventionally, the thickness of the painted layer was measured after the solidification of the powder paint by the heating followed by the cooling and the products with too thin or too thick painted layer needed to be disposed or re-painted. However, this Layer Check using the ATO technology has made it possible to measure the layer thickness before the heating and minimize the loss caused by the disposal and re-painting.
