This paper introduces the Intellectual Property Department of Hosokawa Micron Corporation, focusing on its evolving role and initiatives. Initially part of the R&D department, the IP Department shifted to the Corporate Division in 2020, one of the supporting functions for the company’s overall business development. The department continues to secure and manage industrial property rights, including patents and trademarks, while increasingly focusing on preventing infringement and reducing litigation risks. Recent efforts also involve international trademark registration and collaboration with external experts. The department aims to enhance visibility to employees, management, and stakeholders, promoting awareness and strategic use of intellectual assets across the company.
