Business is an activity to create new value by combining the needs of customers and society with the seeds（technology, resources, etc.）of organizations. In an environment where needs and seeds are changing drastically, if an organization does not have the capability to change in response to them,the raison d’etre of the organization will become questionable and employee will lose motivation.Total Quality Management（TQM）plays both roles of a）giving each individual opportunities to improve his or her capabilities and b）linking the capabilities of each individual to those of the organization. Based on the relationship between business, organizational capability, and TQM, this article focuses on the capability of each individual, which is the base of organizational capability, and considers how to work on improving that capability in line with JSQC-Std 41-001:2017 Guidelines for Quality Management Education and Training.
