The discovery of the islets of Langerhans by Inuo2) in two kinds of scombers, viz. Scomber scombrus japonicus and S. scombrus tapeinocephalus, has led the auther to ascertain histologically the existence of the pancreas in these forms, as illustrated in Figs. 1 & 2.
