This study deals with the curvatures of weighted netting plane in flow field. Five simplified model nets are used in the experiment. These models are similar with respect to weight in water, but different in the distribution of tiny spherical lead weights on the netting plane and leadline. The average netting densities (ρ) of five model nets are 0.91g/cm3 for A net. 1.14g/cm3 for B net, 1.38g/cm3 for C net, 1.70g/cm3 for D net and 2.10g/cm3 for E net. The experimental flow velocities are set to be 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50cm/s.
A differential equation is derived from the kinetic equilibrium of the weighted model nets and determines the velocity dependence of the curvature.
The results are as follows:
1) When the velocity is less than 20cm/s, curvatures are the largest for the smallest netting density.
2) In all flow velocities, depth of the leadline is the largest for the smallest netting density.
3) The calculated curvatures agree closely with the measured curvatures.
