The following results were obtained from the experiments on the media of Eremothecium ashbyii for industrial production of riboflavin : 1) Er. ashbyii cannot utilize soluble starch. 2) Addition of 5% malt extract to the medium containing 5% fish meal and 3% cane molasses increased riboflavin production slightly, and rice germ saccharified with malt can be used as a component of culture medium. 3) Dried cuttlefish meals are usable, too. 4) Dried silkworm pupa is good material for Er. ashbyii culture, and it is effective to mix the substance with corn steep liquor. 5) Activated sewage sludge is also usable as a main or a supplemental nitrogen source.
