Investigations were made to find the difference in the riboflavin production by Eremothecium ashbyii due to varying lots of raw materials for culture medium. The results showed that there was little difference in the riboflavin production in the case of molasses, and that it was practically desirable to choose as a raw material sardine meal of high nitrogen and vitamin B_<12> contents, and of low moisture, since a great difference was found in the lots of the meal.
