This is the second half of the article and deals mainly with adsorption inhibition methods for the determination of vitamin B_<12> binding power. Microbial inhibition methods developed by Davis and Chow using Lactobacillus leichmannii 4797 and by Hoff-Jφrgensen using a wild strain of E. coli have been detailed. The former technique is highly recommended to be applied to localization and quantitation of vitamin B_<12> binding power in chromatographic and electrophoretic fractions. The technique to adsorb unbound vitamin B_<12> with charcoal as described by Miller has been criticized on the basis of incompleteness of adsorption under certain circumstances and limitation in interpreting the results. Additional comments have been made on the use of radioactive vitamin B_<12> as to its handling, specific activities to be used, and the processing of the samples for radioactive measurement.
