In a previous paper, we demonstrated that DPNH-diaphorase, contrary to succinic dehydrogenase, was little affected by riboflavin deficiency in gut mucosa where the epithelial cells are regenerated remarkably. The fact suggested that similar phenomena might be observed in the skin, known for its remarkable regenerarion as well as mucosa. Histochemical studies employing neotetrazolium salt showed, as expected, that succic indehydrogenase was extremely influenced, while DPNH-diaphorase was not, by riboflavin deflciency in the skin of the rat and the mouse.
