As described in previous papers, DPNH-diaphorase seems to be concerned in cell division, whereas succinic dehydrogenase in cell differentiation. In this study, an attempt was made on proving the fact using Torulopsis utilis. Succinic dehydrogenase activity was very low at the period of rapid cell division when the organism was immature. However, a remarkable increase was observed at maturity. On the other hand DPNH-diaphorase activity was already high even at the period of rapid cell division, and furthermore the high activity was remained after the period. From these data we could prove the fact that DPNH-diaphorase is related to cell division and succinic dehydrogenase to cell differentiation.
